Nursing Support

Nursing Support

Compass, Inc. nursing services supports people in achieving their best possible health. For those whose wellness needs can benefit from nursing support, Compass provides this service as an integrated part of their overall program. Nurses visit people in their homes periodically, perform routine assessments such as vital signs and system reviews, and provide education and advice to address health concerns as they arise. Our nurses also train and supervise direct support staff and medication technicians, review health records, assist with medication management, manage appointments and follow-ups, consult with physicians, and assess safety and environmental needs. Each person’s nurse is an integral part of their support team, ensuring health care is personalized and effective for the long term. Compass is proud of the experience and dedication of our nursing staff, with some team members supporting our programs for over 15 years!

About Our Program

Nursing services are tailored to help people overcome health, physical, and behavioral challenges, supporting them in living as independently as possible. These services empower individuals to pursue their goals and take dignified risks in healthy, sustainable ways. All Compass nurses hold a valid Maryland Nursing License or are authorized to practice in Maryland through the Nurse Licensure Compact and meet all DDA-specific standards.

Nursing Health Case Management Services and Delegation Services

In delegation, nurses train a person’s staff to perform tasks related to the person’s healthcare needs as appropriate and in accordance with applicable regulations.

Nursing Consultation Services

A registered nurse will review information about a person’s overall health needs and provide recommendations, training, information, and protocols for them and their supporters. This consultation promotes independence, community integration, and personal advocacy related to or affected by a person’s health needs.
