Compass, Inc. launches Annual Appeal, asking donors to support adults with disabilities.
Andre came to Compass, Inc. for independent living supports 1 year ago this month. Previously living in foster care, he has already made great strides in his personal and professional growth. With help from the Compass Job Development Program he has obtained employment, working in a local barber shop where he sweeps hair, removes trash, and makes sure the shop is tidy and ready for customers. His boss, “Web” says he hired Andre because he saw drive and potential. He describes Andre as an employee who gets along well with the customers with dedication and loyalty to the job!
Aside from working diligently at the barbershop, Andre enjoys many hobbies, such as playing basketball and football through Special Olympics in Howard County. He is popular amongst his teammates on and off the field, attending practices as well as parties hosted by his coach. In his spare time, Andre gives back to his community by volunteering with the Special Olympics’ bowling league, where he assists children with disabilities. We are proud of Andre and all of the great strides he has made and will continue to make with Residential and Employment Support from Compass, Inc.
Please consider giving to Compass, Inc. so that we may continue to support people like Andre; helping them find employment and meet other life-long goals that ensure that they live their lives to the fullest.
